during a student assistant's political rant ... - Overheard at the Library
There's a place in New Jersey called Russia, does that count?
The Russian Tea Room, perhaps?
If you go back several centuries to what was traditional Russia (Muscovia)and you don't count their expansions into other ethnic areas as being "russia" then it could be true. But then again, they expanded into Siberia before the United Stated even existed, if I remember correctly. Not to mention, Alaska, and much of the west coast down to northern California used to be Russian territory.

See, there's this spot in the basement at the library at Columbia that the Ghostbusters used to use, and they accidentally opened up a wormhole to an undisclosed location outside Ekaterinburg while building the prototype for the ectoplasmic containment unit. It's been used for delivery of fresh borscht to the linguistics department for years. I'm surprised you haven't heard of it before.

Dude, in that case, I used to hang out RIGHT NEXT DOOR to the part of Russia that's in DC. Does that make me an expert on foreign policy?
